Who we are

This privacy policy explains how Builders Zone ("we", "us") handles information when you visit https://builders.zone, join our bootcamp waitlist, or use a member account. Contact: [email protected].

What this site does

The site is a marketing and waitlist page for an in-person bootcamp in Athens. We do not sell products on this site. We collect information you choose to give us so we can contact you about the program, workshops, and cohort dates.

Information we collect

When you create a member account we store your name, email address, profile details you add, and your cohort. We record whether you agreed to receive our newsletter and announcements, when you last changed that choice, and which wording you saw. When you join the waitlist we store your email address, language preference (English or Greek), and optional technical data such as IP address and browser type for security and abuse prevention. If you contact us by email, we keep the content of that correspondence.

How we use your information

Messages about your cohort and account (schedule, sessions, replays, security) are sent as part of the service. Newsletters and announcements are sent only if you opt in, and every one has an unsubscribe link. Only if you separately agree (an optional box, off by default), we count whether you open our newsletters and click links in them; you can switch that off in your settings at any time, and those records are deleted after about six months. We use waitlist data to send confirmation and program updates, notify our team of new signups, improve the site, and comply with law. We do not sell your personal data.

Product analytics

We measure how the site and the members' platform are used with RudderStack, which we host ourselves: events go to builders.zone and then to our own servers, not to a third-party analytics company. When you are signed in, our servers record the actions you take on the platform, such as posting, reacting, following, RSVPing, completing a cohort resource, testing an app, using our MCP tools and paying, linked to your account, to run and improve the service; this uses no cookies. Pages you open and buttons you click are recorded in your browser only as your cookie choice allows (see our Cookie Policy at /cookies): if you accept analytics cookies, or, outside the EU, EEA, UK and Switzerland, until you reject them. In the EU, EEA, UK and Switzerland, until you choose, we only count visits without storing anything on your device: our server derives an identifier from your IP address and browser that changes every day and cannot be turned back into your IP address, and the IP address is not stored. If you reject analytics cookies, we stop measuring your visits in your browser. We never record what you type: not your posts, messages, search text or form fields, and links to member profiles, messages and posts are recorded without their text. Our analytics add an approximate location (country, region and city) worked out from your IP address. IP geolocation by DB-IP (https://db-ip.com), licensed under CC BY 4.0. Data is only passed on to advertising platforms if you accept marketing cookies.

Legal bases (EEA/UK)

Where GDPR applies, we rely on your consent for the waitlist, for newsletters and announcements, and for analytics and marketing cookies; on contract for cohort and account messages and for recording, on our servers, the actions signed-in members take on the platform; and on legitimate interests for site security, counting visits without cookies, and communicating about a service you asked to hear about. You can object to analytics on your account at any time by emailing [email protected].

Email and service providers

We use email delivery providers (for example Resend or SMTP relay) to send messages. Data may be processed in the EU or other countries with appropriate safeguards. Hosting and database providers store waitlist records on servers we configure for this project.

Cookies and similar technologies

We may use essential cookies for the site to work and optional cookies if you accept them in our cookie banner. See our Cookie Policy at /cookies for details.

How long we keep data

Deleting a member account also deletes its email history. We keep waitlist entries until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them, or until they are no longer needed for the bootcamp program, plus any period required by law.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict use of your data, to withdraw consent, and to complain to a supervisory authority. To exercise rights, email [email protected].

Children

The waitlist is not directed at children under 16. If you believe a child gave us their email, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes

We may update this policy. We will post the new version on this page with an updated date.
